The Ancestral Metabolic Health Method™

Understand Your Biology.

Create the environment your ancestral body was designed to thrive in.

Your health is influenced by much more than a diagnosis, a laboratory result, a supplement, or a medication. Nutrition, minerals, sleep, light, movement, stress, metabolic health, relationships, and your environment interact with your biology every day.

The Ancestral Metabolic Health Method™ helps you understand those connections so you can become a better-informed participant in your health.

Why This Exists

Your health is a story, not a single number.

Many people begin paying attention to their health only after symptoms appear or a diagnosis is made. But biology does not suddenly change overnight.

The body is constantly adapting to nutrition, sleep, movement, stress, light, environmental exposures, metabolic demands, and many other influences — sometimes for years before an obvious problem is recognized.

That is why learning about your health trajectory matters. Instead of looking only at where you are today, we teach you to ask:

  • Where did I start?
  • What has changed?
  • What direction am I moving?
  • What might be influencing that trajectory?
  • What questions should I be asking?

Understanding the story can be more useful than staring at one isolated number.

Our Difference

Don't just chase the symptom. Understand the biology.

When something changes in the body, our first question is not automatically “What supplement should I take?” We begin with: what is the body trying to accomplish?

  1. What does the cell need to do its job?
  2. What biological systems support that process?
  3. What patterns and trends are present?
  4. What foundational factors may deserve attention?
  5. What should be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional?

This is the foundation of The Ancestral Metabolic Health Method™.

The Ancestral Environment

Your biology expects an environment.

Human biology developed around natural environmental signals: light during the day, darkness at night, regular movement, physical challenge followed by recovery, nutrient-dense food, periods without food, natural environments, social connection, rest, and sleep.

Modern life has changed dramatically. Our biology has not changed at the same speed. The goal is not to recreate the past — it is to understand the fundamental conditions human biology developed around and intelligently apply those principles to modern life.

What You Will Learn

Learn how your biology works.

The educational platform explores the systems and environmental factors that influence human health.

The Method

A better way to think about your health.

The Ancestral Metabolic Health Method™ teaches you to look beyond isolated symptoms and understand the larger biological picture. We study:

  1. Foundations
  2. Biological Requirements
  3. Adaptation
  4. Compensation
  5. Patterns & Trends
  6. Health Trajectory
  7. Foundational Support
  8. Reassessment

The objective is not to diagnose disease. The objective is to help you understand your biology, improve foundational health behaviors, recognize meaningful changes, and know when questions should be taken to an appropriate healthcare professional.

The Core Framework

Test. Identify. Correct. Retest.

Test

Gather useful information and establish a baseline when appropriate.

Identify

Look for patterns, trends, lifestyle factors, biological context, and questions that deserve attention.

Correct

Support foundational lifestyle and nutritional behaviors, and involve qualified healthcare professionals whenever medical evaluation or management is required.

Retest

Reassess when appropriate and compare your trajectory over time.

Test first. Don't guess.

Become Your Own Health Advocate

Your healthcare should include you.

Being your own health advocate does not mean becoming your own doctor. It means becoming an educated participant — and participating in decisions about your own body.

«Education gives you the vocabulary to participate in the conversation.»

  • Know your history.
  • Keep your records.
  • Understand your laboratory results.
  • Track important trends.
  • Learn the basics of your biology.
  • Ask questions.
  • Understand why something is being recommended.
  • Seek appropriate professional opinions when needed.

Meet Julio

Meet Julio Catano.

Metabolic Health Practitioner · HTMA Practitioner · Metabolic Health Educator & Coach

My journey into metabolic health began with my own health. In 2020, I became seriously concerned about changes occurring in my body — high blood pressure, liver inflammation, multiple symptoms, medications, and, most frustrating of all, a lack of understanding about why my health had changed.

At the same time, I watched people I loved struggle with increasingly complicated health problems.

I realized that I didn't simply want someone to tell me what to do. I wanted to understand. That question changed the direction of my life.

I began studying metabolic health, nutrition, human physiology, minerals, HTMA, lifestyle, and the biological systems that allow the body to function.

Today, my mission is simple:

«I help people understand their biology so they can become their own health advocates and make better-informed decisions about their health.»

Educational Library

Start learning.

Explore articles designed to make complicated biology easier to understand — metabolic health, minerals, iron, copper, insulin resistance, energy production, hormones, circadian biology, sleep, nutrition, HTMA, laboratory trends, healthy aging, and more.

Nutrition

Food as biological information

How food provides energy, building materials, micronutrients, and signals your biology reads every day.

Movement & Muscle

Why movement is a metabolic signal

Strength, muscle mass, and daily activity are not only about fitness — they shape metabolic health over time.

Circadian Biology

Darkness is an input, not an absence

Light, darkness, food timing, and activity all communicate time to the body — and recovery depends on it.

Visual Learning

See the biology.

Sometimes one diagram can explain what several pages of text cannot. Explore visual resources designed to help you understand biological pathways, nutrient relationships, metabolic systems, and health trajectories.

Infographics coming soon

Featured infographics will appear here as they are published.

Courses

Go deeper.

When you are ready to move beyond individual articles, structured courses will guide you through important health concepts step by step. Learn at your own pace — understand the foundations first, then build upon them.

HTMA

Understanding mineral patterns.

Minerals participate in thousands of biological processes and do not work independently. The HTMA Education Center teaches you about Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, mineral relationships, common ratios, patterns, and limitations — as an educational assessment of mineral patterns, not a medical diagnosis.

Ready to understand your health differently?

My role is not to replace your physician. My role is to help you become a more educated participant in your health — organizing your health information, discussing patterns and trends, and developing better questions for the appropriate healthcare professionals when needed.
